Uncanny X-Force

I had never liked these X-Men spinoffs, actually (recently) I've never really liked any of the X-Men series, nor did I like Deadpool. (which is kind of X-Men) But when Angle, Wolverine, and Deadpool are all in the same series I had to check it out. I'm just saying now that I've had no experience with Fantomex, or Psylocke.
The series starts off with Deadpool going on some covert mission to a cult sort of thing, well, until he was knocked unconscious by a giant statue. Then we see Psylocke's dream, she dreams that Angle is arguing with Archangel, and Archangel is killing both of them. Angle and Psylocke both wakeup and argue about lying to each other when they get a call, not really sure what about, probably Deadpool. Then there is a competition between Fantomex and Wolverine, and Wolverine wins. I was then a little confused when the X-Force just kinds of meets with no lead up. They go to where Deadpool was and they get attacked by the giant statue, after they overcome that and rescue Deadpool, you see Apocalypse as a small boy, and Angel declares that he's going to kill him.
I found this issue confusing. I don't know who called Angle, or what about, Angle later said something about how Deadpool was gathering info about something for years, and I don't know what, and most importantly I don't know what brought the X-Force back together. (Although I Fantomex just decided to get them all back) But as I was reading I barley noticed, what I did notice was great writing, great art, and the best written Deadpool I've ever seen. It's like the way Bendis writes Spiderman, Remender writes Deadpool like I've always wanted to see him. Another character that is done really well in this series is Fantomex, he had a very nice classiness about him, but I still don't know anything about him. (I'll be sure to look him up so I'm prepared for next issue) Angle, Wolverine, and Psylocke were also written well, but not as well as Deadpool and Fantomex. For a series like this I would usually comment about "starting in the middle of the series," but the trailer for this series took that thought right out of my mind.
This was a really good issue, with great art, and great writing, there were just a couple of holes in the plot, most of which I would consider irrelevant.

Deadpool Corps #3

I've been on my recent Deadpool run, so I picked this one up, despite all the bad reviews it got. As I've said countless times before, I love alternate reality stories. So I couldn't resist Deadpool Corps. In this issue the Corps has been captured by a being called the Awareness. The Awareness abducts large amounts of life forms and gives them all a single mind. Lady Deadpool, Deadpool, and Kidpool are all in prison. The leader of all the life forms on the ship that the Corps is currently on is allowed his own mind, he tells the Corps that there is away to stop the Awareness. Meanwhile Dogpool and Headpool are trying to find away to brake the Corps out. Oh... and the Champion is with Headpool and being difficult.
Like I said in my review of Birds of Prey #3, writers are doing too much too early, I'm not talking about the Awareness or anything like that. I'm talking about the Champion. One: He isn't Deadpool from another reality, and two: did the Gischler already get sick of the characters he had? Why did he have tooe add another member to the corps on issue two? I wasn't a fan of this issue but I think it would have been better without the Champion. I've also read that the humor wasn't great in this series, in the comic store I can't read the entire comic, so when I picked up this issue, I was relying on one or two funny panels that I'd read. But the humor wasn't that good, like I said there were some funny moments but not enough to make this a good Deadpool comic. The only good thing about this comic was the art, that was extraordinary. Two thumbs up to Rob Liefeld and Matt Yackey. Like in the Deadpool series it matched the ridiculousness and the darkness that is Deadpool and that I want in a Deadpool comic. Unfortunately the writing was just not good enough.

Deadpool #23

I know I'm an issue behind in Deadpool, but I've only recently been interested in him. This issue got mixed reviews ( kind of) some gave it an Okay, some gave it a great. I have to side with the great, I absolutely loved this comic, I picked it up because I'd heard about him, I saw him in Wolverine Origins (even though they sowed the Merc with a Mouth's mouth shut) and I saw him in Ultimate Alliance 2 (great game) so I though I'd give him a try. I was surprised to find that I loved this book.
In this issue, some one at a superhero costume party (to celebrate the "Reunification of the Avengers") and someone called Deadpool a Dirtbag. Deadpool didn't like that so he went to Vegas and blew him up.  Then he went to do some gambling. He started to win a lot, so casino security came to throw him out, by casino security I mean a giant robot named the House, that actually has the Weasel inside. That is where I leave off on the synopsis.
Several people thought that the humor was lacking, maybe there was one or two moments that could have been more funny, but it was pretty good. I knew Deadpool was a loose cannon, but he went to Vegas and set off a bomb just because someone called him a dirtbag, wow that's low. But it made the issue all the better. The art was fantastic, it was somewhere between conventional comic art, and cartoons, which I guess is perfect for Deadpool. I have only two complaints and both are rather small. The cover is supposed to almost be a preview of the issue, so I picked this up not knowing what to expect (remember first Deadpool comic) but I did expect something that had to do with the Avengers, the real Avengers, not a bunch of people in costumes. There was nothing, but that is only a very minor complaint that I thought about after, my second one probably only exists because this is my first Deadpool comic, and that is there was no Deadpool fighting, he jumped out of the way a couple times, but other that that, nothing. I'm sure that wouldn't have bothered me if I had read a Deadpool comic with fighting before hand, but it still bothered me just a little. I wouldn't complain usually but Deadpool is known for fighting. But those two complaints are very, very small. So it didn't effect the grade much.
